So admit, I am feel like I am lacking a bit in my blog, but I promise to do a few more posts here and there just to give everyone an update on life and stuff!!
This past week was reading week so I had the entire week off!!! Monday was "Family Day", some day here in Ontario that allows families to spend quality time together, and since my family and I are all nerds we actually spend the day together (because clearly we don't spend enough time together :D) Total spur of the moment we decided to go down to States to do some shopping. I bought a SUPER cute polka dot skirt and stripped shirt from Target.
I'm kind of bit obsessed with the store, not going to lie!! When we got to Salmon Run mall we went to the usual: FYE, Bath and Body Works, blah blah. I was super mad because I found a Bieber blanket for only 20$, but my parents (and Andrew...the little conspirator) were not having any of it. They also had cardboard life-size Biebers for sale, even I think that is a little much.
After a beautiful dinner at Sbarros (mmm) we made our way home. I'm not going to lie being in the car is close to being my favourite thing about trips. Candy, Smart Food, and Broadway music, so it's pretty much the best!!! I love how my family is totally not the typical family while traveling. Yes there are times when we nap, listen to our own iPods but most of the time we blast Broadway music and sing along like some crazies!!! And I love every minute of it!!
Tuesday and Thursday I worked...bleh. But on Wednesday we got the 25th Anniversary of Les Miserables on Blu-Ray in the mail, so yes on my day off I watched it.....twice. And then Thursday after work I watched the Little Mermaid Broadway version. The entire show is on Youtube. So in two days I spent 8 hours watching Broadway musicals...yes I am special!
Then on Friday we went down to Toronto for a couple days. My parents and Andrew went to the temple with Kelsi and her family so I stayed at Adam and Alicia's apartment. Adam had to work that night, so Alicia and I had a girls night filled with Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Flight of the Concords, Persuasion, hot chocolate, petting their cat (and my nephew) Owen, and just talking. We ended up staying up until 4 AM. Owen slept on the Futton with me, and spent the entire night resting his head on my feet DAWWWWW!!!!!!!!! I love that putty!!!!
The next morning we had to wake up pretty early to get a good day of shopping out of it. We went to Honest Ed's, (the most amazing store in Toronto that is SUPER DUPER cheap!!), Kensington Market, (filled with numerous vintage and one-of-a-kind stores), China Town, and then we walked down Queen street! When we were walking back to their apartment we went to this sandwich shop called "Murray's" and had the most amazing snack ever!!! It was deep fried sweet bread filled with Nutella with melted peanut butter to dip it in. It was absolutely heavenly!!!! After that we went to a few record stores and I told them how much I want a record player, not realizing that they still have their old one so.....they gave it to me with Carole King's "Tapestry" which is one of my favs!! I still can not believe it!!!!!
Everything I bought, and got
Record Player and Tapestry
Honest Ed's - Shirt 2.99$
H&M - Circle scarf 14.99$
UO- Crop top 14.99$
UO - Cheetah Top 19.99$
Adam bought this cute one-of-a-kind credit card holder from a cute store in Kensington Market, and I absolutely love it!!!
This week was stuffed pack with: 14 hours of traveling, 8 hours of Broadway, 8 hours of shopping, 14 hours of work, 5 hours of church, and 0 HOURS OF SCHOOL!!! All in all it was perfection!!
So I thought I would do a little experiment to see how many Bieber things I have...I don't have posters everywhere...but I do have quite a lot. I will admit it is pretty pathetic for a 20 year old, but I really don't care anymore! Here goes the tally:
All 4 of his CDs
Teen Vogue, Pop Star and his bio:
Notebook paper, I am saving for something very special!!
Door hanger. Every time he gets knocked on the floor, my family apologizes to him and hangs him back on! They even refer to it as "him"
I also have a bookmark, but I can't find it....which is depressing!
Last Friday, Monika and I went to see his new 3D movie "Never Say Never". Even though it was opening day, there were max 20 people there and they were all our age, but once the movie started we all acted like we were 10, no lie! And he legit touched my hand 20 times!!
We were excited...
And yes, the ticket made it on my memory board <3>
For sure going to see it again.
It may not seem like a lot, but he is literally my life. He has surpassed my love for Micheal Phelps, and that is saying A LOT!!! I never thought my fever for Bieber would get any worse...I was wrong.
I thought that since I haven't done an actual post in a long time, I would do a little update on what happened the past few weeks.
Tuesday Meana and I did our 2nd annual trip to the canal. For all of you who do not live in Canada, or Ottawa you may not even know about the most awesome winter event that happens during February in my beautiful city. "Winterlude" is anything and everything perfect about winter rolled up into one massive event. Skating on the canal (more like walking for Meana and I), eating beaver-tails, walking through Confederation Park looking at the amazing ice sculptures, and ice slides in Gatineau.
The one thing that has always bugged me about Canadian winters is that even though the sun may be shining and it looks like a beautiful day, it turns out to be the most windy, bitterly cold day ever!!!! Even though I have lived here my entire life, I have always been fooled by that gosh darn sun!!! And what do you know, Tuesday just so happened to be one of those days. Looked gorgeous, was definitely not so gorgeous. Once we got on the canal and started walking I said to Meana: "Oh this isn't that bad." Then when we turned around, we were BLASTED by the most disgusting cold wind ever! See we didn't notice it because the wind was to are backs....but once we turned around it was cringe worthy! So we decided to reward ourselves by going shopping!
We did quite a few running and sliding. Yes we looked ridiculous, but it was not near as embarrassing as it would have been if we were on skates!
I bought my first item ever from Zara, and let me say I am very satisfied!!! I have been needing a pair of jeans for a while and I finally found the perfect pair there!! Dark wash, skinny, and high waisted SO THRILLED!!!!!!!!
Later that night, the Young Women in our ward had a combined activity with the Relief Society, so I got to hang out with my girls!! We were making sleeping mats out of milk bags to send to Haiti, and I must say the samples that people brought looked amazing!!!!! We got a little hyper and made hats, and bracelets.
The end result of the mats:
So last week I get from a long day of school, walk into my room and see gorgeous new bedding on my bed!!! My mom bought me a Cath Kidston and Laura Ashley patchwork blanket and 2 pillow cases. Loving how my parents are buying so many things for my bedroom!!!!
Oh I also forgot to tell you about a pair of shoes I bought just over a month ago. I've been looking at these shoes for months and they finally went on sale, so I snatched them up right away! Nothings better than getting a good buy!!
So I have been racking my brain for the past 2 weeks trying to figure out what to post for my 100th post and I came up with.....NOTHING!! But then I realized, there are so many people in my life that have made me into the person I am today. See my life isn't crazy special, I am just a normal Mormon, Canadian girl who just lives her pretty average life from day to day. I like to keep things simple, and surround myself with people I care about. I know there are a lot of things on this blog most (if not all) of you are not interested in. But in a way this is my diary. It may not seem like anything to you, but to me it means a lot. This blog has taught me to see life differently and focus on more important and not to take this life for granted. This past year has been pretty hectic, and I feel as though I have grown as a person. My testimony has been strengthened, I have gained, and lost friends, I have said numerous farewells and have tried my hardest to be the best me I can be.
This year coming up is going to be very hectic and full of changes that I am not sure if I am ready for. But something that I have learned the hard way is that life doesn't wait for anybody. You always need to be prepared for anything, and can't just assume that things will always be the same. Things happen and people change. This past month in particular has been full of curve balls I never expected. There is nothing worse than seeing a friendship slip through the cracks and there is nothing you can do about it. In the end it may be nobodies fault, but the pain still stings like crazy. Honestly don't know how I could have gotten through everything without my family, my church and my best friend, Meana Franco. All my life I wanted a sister, and then when I started high school, I got one. She has been right beside me for everything. I don't want to even know what might of happened if we never met in homeroom on our first day of high school!!
Next my church! I am so blessed with the people that are in my ward and stake! From my YW president, to seminary teachers, visiting teaching companions, to friends, they have helped make how I am!
Then there's my family. Man I feel sorry for everyone who isn't me, because of the support and love I have from them! I can't even begin to describe how my life would be like without them!
At first I wanted this blog to be real fashion driven, but as the year went on I found that I was slowly taking a new direction and perspective on things. As much as I love fashion and reading fashion blogs, I found that having a blog based just on fashion was not me, and I felt slightly artificial. I'm done with pretending to be someone I'm not, and focus on just being me. So this blog became more and more of just random stuff that I love and makes me happy.
So happy 100th post my dear blog! Cheers to another year full of family, friends, fashion, faith, and free falling into the unknown. It's going to be a crazy, but I am so ready!!
ps. Thanks for all the support, couldn't have done it without any of you!
